With the acquisition of most of the assets of Erickson Retirement Communities in 2010, Erickson Living traces its roots back to 1983. Headquartered in Baltimore, Erickson Living today manages 16 large-scale campus-style communities in Colorado, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey,Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. Its communities are home to more than 21,000 people and employ more than 12,000.

Erickson Living amenities include on-site restaurants, stores, an aquatic and fitness center with full-time trainers and a medical center staffed by board-certified primary care physicians. Staff physicians are specialists in geriatrics and practice only at Erickson Living campuses.

Low-impact, self-sufficient campuses

Low-impact, self-sufficient campuses provide their own security and emergency response service, as well as road repair, snow removal and other services typically funded by local government. In the greater communities where they are located, Erickson Living campuses have a positive economic impact through real-estate taxes, capital investment, community expenditures and the creation of about 1,000 new jobs per campus.
