Construction Announced on Fincher Station, Windsor Run's Seventh Residence Building

Windsor Run, the Erickson Senior Living community in Matthews, N.C., is excited to announce the construction of Fincher Station, the community's seventh residence building.

"We are thrilled to continue meeting the strong demand for our vibrant, active lifestyle with 91 new apartment homes at Fincher Station," says Executive Director Michael Wehrle.

The construction of Fincher Station follows closely on the opening of Crestdale Court earlier this year and Fullwood Ridge in 2023.

"Both buildings garnered a lot of interest, and so has Fincher Station," says Sales Director Ryan Barkley. "In fact, Fincher Station is already 50% sold to members of our Priority List, who received early notice of our construction plans."

Amenities and activities

Fincher Station, boasting a range of new amenities, is sure to become a hub of resident activity.  

Two new restaurants--The Cardinal, offering an elevated, fine dining experience, and the Midtown Pub, providing a casual, sports pub ambiance--will serve up delicious, made-to-order dishes. Carolina Hall, a performing arts center designed to host 250 guests, will also be added.  

Every apartment home in Fincher Station will include popular features like spacious, open layouts; modern kitchens with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances; full-size, side-by-side washers and dryers; walk-in closets; and custom flooring and light fixtures.

"We use feedback from current and future residents to plan each new residence building," says Barkley. "As a result, Fincher Station will offer our most desired floor plans, including the one-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath Bradford and the large two-bedroom, two-bath with porch Hawthorne."

A floor plan for you

With an open floor plan and lots of windows, The Bradford's living area is flooded with natural light. The large kitchen, equipped with quartz countertops, is a delight for cooks of every skill level. And the separate dining area is the perfect place to enjoy a good meal or game night, even with friends and family.

If you're looking for the extra space provided by an additional bedroom and bath, the Hawthorne is the ideal apartment home for those who like to host visiting grandkids or pursue hobbies, like painting or sewing.

The Hawthorne also features a dedicated dining area that opens into a large living room with access to a private porch. The airy kitchen has a sizeable pantry as well as plenty of space for a table and chairs.

Circle of friends

As construction begins on amenities and apartment homes at Fincher Station, the Welcome Committee--cochaired by residents Elizabeth Stone and Judy Courtemanche--is gearing up to greet new neighbors.

"Judy and I get so excited every time a new residence building opens because we love making new friends," says Elizabeth. "Our goal is to ensure that every new resident feels right at home."

With nearly one hundred volunteers, the committee is able to reach every new resident as soon as they arrive, offering to answer questions or accompany them to dinner.

"We're constantly impressed with all of the Welcome Committee volunteers. They go above and beyond to support new residents as they transition to life at the community," says Elizabeth. "The committee, in my opinion, is an integral part of the warm environment at Windsor Run."  

A 'wonderful' experience

Anne Burger felt the impact of the committee's outreach firsthand when she moved to Fullwood Ridge from Lake Norman, N.C., this past December.

"It's wonderful to have a volunteer come to your door to welcome you," Anne says. "Caroline, my volunteer, brought a gift from the committee--an oven mitt and potholder--as well as the calendar of monthly activities. She invited me to join her for dinner the first Friday I was here. She continues to check in on me and invite me to dinner. I've met some great people through our connection!"

In fact, Anne was so impressed with her Welcome Committee experience that she decided to pay it forward--she now serves as a volunteer herself.

"In addition to creating connections, the volunteers are always available to answer any questions that come up," she says. "I found that very helpful, so I couldn't wait to do the same for others."
