Pickleball Court Opens at Ann's Choice

The grand opening celebration included demonstrations and refreshments of pickles, of course!

On June 27, Ann’s Choice , an Erickson Living retirement community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, held a grand opening celebration for its new pickleball court on campus. More than 85 residents and staff attended the fun event which included a ribbon cutting, demonstrations, and refreshments of delicious pickles.

At the celebration, Pennsylvania Pickle Ball Ambassador Stan Shumaker presented the rules, scoring, and played a game on the new court.

For the fifth consecutive year, Ann’s Choice’s continuing care neighborhood was named a “Best Nursing Home” and received a 5-Star Rating from U.S. News & World Report.

"This recognition by U.S. News & World Report is a fantastic endorsement of our staff's daily dedication to a providing excellent quality care for residents,” said Executive Director Chris Donati.

U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 homes nationwide, in every state and nearly 100 major metropolitan areas. This year, nearly 2,300 nursing homes earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home.

On June 29, eight residents from Ann’s Choice, an Erickson Living Retirement Community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, had the opportunity to tour the NBC10 television station and studio in Philadelphia. Many of the residents who participated in the tour are members of the resident-run TV studio at Ann’s Choice.

The tour at NBC10 included guided access to areas such as the control room, the studio, the outdoor weather patio, and the newsroom. The residents also had the opportunity to sit in the studio to watch the live news broadcast and watch the meteorologists at work using the green screen....

On June 6, Ann Choice Retirement Community hosted family, friends, residents, and staff at its annual Scholar Awards Ceremony. At the event, 46 graduating high school seniors were awarded $8,000 scholarships from the community to support their pursuit of higher education. Also, nine students received donor-designated named scholarships totaling $36,500.
