WARMINSTER, PA – George "Scotty" Scott, the famous 94-year-old, Ann's Choice resident, who's been tearing up the Internet and news with his Go, Scotty, Go! YouTube video parodying Rocky Balboa, did his last minute stretching and running earlier today with his friend and trainer Dave Marovich. The South Philadelphia native will be competing in tomorrow's Masters Men's 100-meter dash in the category of 75-Y-O and over at tomorrow's Penn Relays.

Mr. Scott, who did not begin running until six years ago, when he was 88-years-old, has competed in countless races, and has the awards to prove it. In fact, the last time he was clocked, he finished a 19.8 – just under the world record set nearly ten years ago set by a 90-Y-O.
Most recently, he has finished in first place in many of his competitions, earning loads of medals, including an impressive fifteen golds, at the 2010 Keystone State Games and Senior Games. This past summer he took first place in several events at the Bucks County Senior Games.
"I attribute my good health and vibrant attitude to basketball, running and ballroom dancing, all of which keep me active and engaged with life," Mr. Scott said.
Mr. Scott, who particularly loves to dance The Hustle with his girlfriend Helen, will have to race (no pun intended) back home to Ann's Choice Saturday evening after the big race because he has to help setup a dance that he organized at the community!
Born in South Philadelphia, Mr. Scott recalls how basketball was a big part of his youth growing up. "Basketball will always be my favorite sport," he said. "There was always a hoop outside of my home wherever I lived and I always played and that's where my love of fitness came from I suppose. Then it grew into running which I began only a few years ago."
A graduate of Temple University, raised six children and currently enjoys spending time with them and his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. That is, when he is not running or exercising...
"As long as I can exercise and compete I'll do it," Mr. Scott said. "I just do the best I can. Between the basketball and dancing I keep young. I want to prove that I can do anything and I tell everyone to stay active so you can stay fit. Do a lot of walking, but most importantly do something you enjoy. You have time to do anything you really want to do."
