Ann's Choice Retirement Community in Warminster Named a "Healthiest Employer" In Greater Philadelphia Region

WARMINSTER, PA - The Ann's Choice retirement community has been selected as one of the Philadelphia region's healthiest employers by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The community was one of five companies receiving this recognition - garnering top honors in the 500-1,499 employee size category.
So what makes Ann's Choice so healthy? Quite a bit...
The community has an Employee Health and Wellness Center, which is open five days a week for staff to utilize whether or not they have insurance. Ann's Choice also provides workers with:

• Free flu shots
• Access to a free fitness center
• Host a weekly walk around the campus during lunch
• A "Biggest Loser" weight loss program which educates staff how to eat healthier
• Free weight loss counseling
• Provide employees with a $240 credit which can be used toward wellness programs such as the purchase of fitness equipment
• Smoking cessation classes and counselling
• A great health insurance plan

Ann's Choice Nurse Practitioner Michele Damas-Smith, PhD, MSN, CRNP, who oversees the community's Employee Health and Wellness Center said, "It's the employees who deserve to be congratulated as well for taking full advantage of the many unique services that Ann's Choice and Erickson Living offer. I am proud and humbled by their commitment to living healthy lives."
In addition, in 2013, Ann's Choice's Employee Health and Wellness Center sponsored a Biggest Loser Contest for 86 participants who lost a total of 468 pounds in only three months.
To support the participants a free weekly 30 minute exercise class was provided by Physical Specialist, Heidi Barke during the lunch hour. They were also encouraged to utilize the free onsite Fitness Center at Ann's Choice before work, at lunch or after work.
Ann's Choice was honored at an awards dinner in Center City earlier this month.
