Riderwood Raises a Total of $260,000 for its Benevolent Care Fund

SILVER SPRING, MD (October 4, 2011) - Riderwood retirement community this year to-date has raised a total of $260,000 for its Benevolent Care Fund through a series of fundraising events, the most recent being Riderwood's Got Talent in which attendees pledged money to support the fund through their votes for the best performances.  The money raised has been added to a fund that helps residents with their long-term care expenses should they ever need assistance. The Tappers Plus won over the audience with their choreographed routine and got the most votes. A total of 450  people attended the event, which featured six performing acts by residents and staff,  held in Riderwood's Encore Theater. The following main sponsors contributed money to the Benevolent Care Fund:
