U.S. News Ranks the Extended Care Neighborhood at Riderwood One of the Best Nursing Homes in the United States for 2012

SILVER SPRING, MD (February 20, 2012) - U.S. News has ranked Renaissance Gardens, the extended care neighborhood at Riderwood retirement community, one of the Best Nursing Homes in the United States for 2012. Renaissance Gardens received the highest overall 5 Star rating. It has been deemed by U.S. News to be exceptional areas of health inspections, nurse staffing, and measures of medical-care quality. The U.S. News rankings are built on data from Nursing Home Compare, a consumer web site run by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. CMS sets and enforces standards for all nursing homes enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid. The data for Nursing Home Compare come from regular health inspections carried out by state agencies and from the nursing homes themselves.
