High School Students and Tallgrass Creek Residents Find Common Ground on the Dance Floor

High School Students and Tallgrass Creek Residents Find Common Ground on the Dance Floor  OVERLAND PARK, KS (April 4, 2011) - Residents of Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park are now practicing their Electric Slide, Macarena and Booty Call dance moves. They are doing this to prepare for their upcoming Wednesday, April 11, nighttime Spring Fling with students from the Blue Valley North High School. The Spring Fling, which is now in its fifth year, will bring 30 Blue Valley North High School Student Council students and nearly 100 Tallgrass Creek residents together for a night of dancing and the sharing of life stories. A Dee Jay provided by the students will play an assortment of music genres - everything from Big Band to Rock, from Country to Hip-Hop - as intergenerational age barriers are dismantled and common ground is found on the dance floor. Madonna, Perry Como, Britney Spears, Pink, Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dean Martin, and others would be at home at the Spring Fling, according to the Tallgrass Creek residents. The students, who will be chaperoned and sponsored by their faculty advisor Erin Nathan,  will bring flowers to the residents for the Spring Fling. They will share soft drinks with the residents and talk about their plans for college. Perhaps most important, they will dance the night away together until the proverbial cows come home.
