Charlestown Resident Cheers on Her Grandson During U.S. Olympic Trials

Anna Husson is #1 fan of UMBC swimmer Patrick Husson

CATONSVILLE, MD---For Anna Husson, a resident of Charlestown retirement community, the final outcome of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for the men's swimming team was not as important as the enduring pride she has in her grandson, Patrick. "He is such a hard worker and a great young man," said Ms. Husson of the sophomore member of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) men's swimming team. Patrick was in Omaha, Nebraska on June 28th with other family members, where he was attempting to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team in the 200-meter breast stroke competition.  Ms. Husson tuned into the NBC Sports Network in her apartment home at Charlestown, where she prepared to watch the trials. According to Ms. Husson, her family has taken to the water.  "I was not a swimmer, but I made sure my children received swimming lessons.  And they are very good, which helps to explain Patrick's success," described the grandmother of sixteen and great-grandmother of four. Ms. Husson states that Patrick is a frequent visitor and that they often attend church together.  "I am so proud of him.  Even to qualify for the Olympic Trials is such an honor," she said.
