Seniors Get Tech Savvy as Maris Grove and AT&T Host First Computer Expo Showcasing How Technology Enhances Senior Living

GLEN MILLS, PA - The digital world is here to stay, and tech-savvy seniors are taking advantage of the opportunities to stay connected with family, track personal finances and health care and be entertained. In fact, a report by the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that 53% of seniors age 65 and up use the Internet! On Tuesday, November 13th and Wednesday, November 14th, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Maris Grove and AT&T will host the first ever Senior TechRALLY™  which is much more than a technology workshop - it is the most interactive and immersive mobile technology event ever developed for the older adult audience. Over the two days, more than 120 Maris Grove residents will have "hands-on training" during a full day of interactive sessions, over 200 top of the line Smartphones and Tablets, a 10 person Support Team, Printed Guidebooks, and follow up support will be on hand to help seniors cross the digital divide. Residents can sample ways in which seniors utilize technology to enhance their lives and have fun. The focus of the event is to offer computing experience to seniors who are in any stage of fear of using the tech devices - from not wanting to touch it or turn it on, to being reluctant of going beyond their comfort zone. The Nielsen Company reports that the number of seniors actively utilizing the internet has increased by more than 55 percent to 17.5 million active users in its latest research. After all, grandma and Grandpa have to keep in touch with their grandchildren in a tech-savvy world don't they?  Maris Grove is located at 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342.   Contact:         Tony Ciavolella                         732-425-4635                         tony.ciavolella@erickson.com  # # #
