Seabrook Employee Receives "Leadership Award" For Demonstrating Erickson Living Values

TINTON FALLS, NJ - Jennifer Courlas, director of continuing care of The Gardens at Seabrook, the community's continuing care neighborhood, was named a Leadership Award Winner at the Erickson Living corporate award recognition event in Baltimore, MD earlier this month. Erickson Living is the developer/management company of Seabrook. Employees from across the organization nominated director-level team members who demonstrate a strong commitment to the Erickson Way culture and values. Of those nominations, each community and corporate department could select one finalist.  The Corporate Executive Team then selected the winners. Chairman Jim Davis, who congratulated the finalists, noted that Erickson Living's culture "sets us apart from our competitors. I am so proud of your commitment to the mission." Chief Executive Officer Alan Butler, who announced the winners, called Jen "...an impassioned and creative leader," and praised all the winners and finalists for exemplifying the Erickson Way. Jen said of the award, "It's an honor to be chosen by Seabrook and Erickson Living for this award. To be recognized by 350 talented leaders at the event was a defining moment in my 30 year health care career because there is so much talent in this organization." Jen came to Seabrook three and a half years ago where she began her Erickson career as assistant administrator. As director of continuing care, she is now responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance for The Gardens, its financial accountability and to provide exceptional resident experiences. According to Jen, her current focus for The Gardens is on integrating health care across all ancillary services to provide continuity of senior health and wellness. The Gardens currently has 96 assisted living beds and 86 skilled nursing beds, which include long-term care and sub-acute rehabilitation. The facility just celebrated its 10 year anniversary. In addition to working as director of continuing care, Jen has worked as a continuing care retirement community executive director and director of human resources. She graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in psychology. Jen is a resident of Bayville, Ocean County.
