This Was One Doggone Fun Day at Seabrook!

TINTON FALLS, NJ- Thirty dogs of different shapes and sizes and breeds and barks came to Seabrook to take part in the 12th annual Strut Your Mutt event. The show provided owners who live and work at Seabrook with a unique way to show off their dogs' talents and give them an opportunity to socialize with the residents, their families and staff. More than 225 people packed Seabrook's auditorium and watched as the pooches were paraded in. The dogs were brought up to the stage one by one where owners provided a brief description of their pets and gave some of the dogs a chance to do a trick or two for the audience. Some of the pets shook their paw, sat patiently awaiting a treat and others just ignored their owners as they received laughs from the audience. Resident Patricia Dygulski proudly paraded her Standard Poodle Monet who jumped and did other tricks. "Monet is precious to me. She is such a great dog and is so loving." The Strut your Mutt event was sponsored by the Seabrook Pet Club in association with the community's resident life department.  "We offer residents many things to do to keep active at Seabrook, from dance and current event classes to card groups and even video games," said Resident Life DirectorGary Engelstad. "Since we also have a fair amount of dog owners we thought it would be a great idea to include pooches and create a fun new activity." Seabrook Community Resources Coordinator Angie Crippen said, "Strut Your Mutt day is one of the most highly anticipated events at Seabrook each year and this one was no exception. All the humans enjoyed themselves, but the four-legged friends probably had the best time of all."
