Wind Crest Announces New Residence Building with 102 Apartment Homes

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO (February 3, 2014) - Wind Crest retirement community today announced the addition of McHenry's Crossing, its new residence building with 102 apartment homes in 22 new floor plans that vary in size and style from luxury two-bedrooms to more modest one-bedrooms. Reservation information can be obtained by calling Tel: (303) 798-3100. Wind Crest considered feedback about the individual apartment homes when designing McHenry's Crossing, which is the community's fifth residence building. "We asked our architects to find ways to offer more open space designs," said Jason Atwell, director of sales. The most notable change, he said, is in the kitchen. "There are no longer walls separating the kitchen from the living space," he said. "We're using islands or peninsulas to give the apartments a much more light, bright, open feel." Additionally, wood floors set the foyers of the new apartment homes apart from the living areas, creating a more defined entrance. Standard features include granite countertop, stainless steel appliances, brushed nickel hardware, and a combination of recessed and pendant lighting in the kitchen. Eighty-five percent of the apartment homes in McHenry's Crossing will have balconies. "People want to enjoy our beautiful surroundings, and balconies are a wonderful addition to these new apartment homes," Atwell said. McHenry's Crossing will have a new community restaurant offering a full seasonal menu and chef specials. It will also have a coffee shop featuring muffins, bagels and hot and cold beverages. It will also offer new flexible spaces for group activities, including a classroom and a movie theater. A fitness room will also be available to complement the existing on-site fitness center at Wind Crest.
