Wind Crest Residents Knit Hats Year-Round for Patients at Children's Hospitals

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO (March 25, 2014) - Members of Wind Crest retirement community's Women's Club this week delivered 30 hats they knitted to Highlands Ranch Children's Hospital for cancer patients ages 12 and younger. The 25 women  - in addition to other Wind Crest residents who are not members of the Women' Club - have been knitting hats on a volunteer basis for the past two years. They recently also delivered 175 hats to Littleton Adventist Hospital for newborn babies. They deliver an average of 20 knitted hats each month to area hospitals as part of their ongoing "Hat of Kids" project. The group meets weekly to knit, but some residents work on more hats on their own time in their apartments.
