In Video, Oak Crest Agrees: "We Won't Stop!"

PARKVILLE--- From their string of dramatic "walk-off" victories to the unsung heroics of players like Steve Pearce and Darren O'Day, it has been a magical season for the 2014 Baltimore Orioles, champions of the mighty American League East Division.

During a summer of pennant-race playoff fever at Oak Crest, the Erickson Living retirement community in Baltimore, MD, residents and employees took the celebration one step further: they starred in a video that pays tribute to their beloved hometown team.

Released via YouTube, the 75-second video features Oak Crest residents cheering on the Birds when a "magical" moment occurs: resident Walt Stawinski takes a pie in the face, ala the Orioles post-game celebration.

The banana cream pie is delivered by the aptly-named Frank Robinson, a supervisor with the Oak Crest General Services Department.

The scene can be viewed here:

The video was directed by Josh Runkles, manager of WOCV, the in-house television station at Oak Crest, and his team of Christopher Taydus and Stephanie Ulman.  Donned in the orange and black, thirty residents and employees participated in the filming.

Many of those residents were members of the Oak Crest Good Guys softball team.  They were champions in their own right this summer, winning a tournament versus their peers from Erickson Living retirement communities in Maryland and Virginia.

"Our guys look at it like champs supporting champs," described Mr. Stawinski, who served as team manager for the Good Guys.  "We appreciate the fundamentally sound baseball that Buck and his guys play game after game.  As everyone says about the Orioles, we won't stop!"
