Charlestown's Dean Crawford is MMA's 2015 Songwriter of the Year

 

CATONSVILLE, MD -- Dean Crawford, Medical Practice Manager for Charlestown retirement community, is the 2015 recipient of Maryland Music Award for Songwriter of the Year.

 

Crawford first started playing music and singing across the island of Jamaica when he was 12 years old. He eventually attended UMBC -- always writing songs and performing them.

 

He and his six-piece band opened for George Jones, Patty Loveless, Neal McCoy, Marty Stuart, and Montgomery Gentry, Crawford has written more than 300 songs.
