CATONSVILLE, MD (July 24, 2015) --Cucumbers, corn, kale, cantaloupe, peaches, squash, onions, and zuchinni seem to jump off the table each Thursday at Charlestown when Stoney Acres arm of Hampstead, MD, brings its Farmers Market to the retirement community.

Seasonal fruits, vegetables and fresh-cut flowers rule the day as hundreds of residents and staff lineup -- beginning at 8 a.m. in the morning -- to buy.

“We enjoy providing fuits, flowers and vegetables to the lovely people here,” said Eileen Stoner, who operates the family-run, 48-acre farm along with her husband, Allan, a horticulturalist.. “Everyone is so friendly.”

The market, which is now in its third year, also features asparagus, peppers, tomatoes, and pickles. It will be held until the end of September in Charlestown’s Cross Creek Lobby.
