Fox Run Residents and Staff Cheer Their Beloved Detroit Tigers at Opening Day Party Like No Other

NOVI, MI (April 11, 2017) – Neil Trainor was among hundreds of Fox Run residents and staff who cheered for their beloved Detroit Tigers at an Opening Day Party that featured baseball-themed food, games, and novelties celebrating the Great American Pastime.

More than 1,200 hot dogs and 700 ice cream treats were served at the April 7 afternoon event. So were popcorn, soda pop and beer. A nacho bar attracted steady interest.

Betty Maysa read Ernest Lawrence Thayer’s legendary poem “Casey at the Bat.” In addition, the Fox Run’s Men’s Chorus sang the “National Anthem” and “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

A Tigers mascot (aka Tom Hollinshead) mingled with attendees – who were decked out in their favorite Tigers apparel -- as they watched the opening game on three big screen television sets (ala a sports bar motif).

“Go, Tigers!”
