History of Ashby Ponds
Built on a Solid Foundation
Our Culture of Caring
Set on 132-acres in bustling Ashburn, VA, Ashby Ponds is one of Northern Virginia’s top retirement communities. Here, you’ll enjoy a vibrant senior lifestyle free from maintenance and filled with amenities—all in a the perfect location. We’re close to landmarks like Dulles Town Center, One Loudoun, George Washington University, and Redskins Park.
In addition to independent living, we offer assisted living, memory care, post-acute rehabilitation, and more at our on-site continuing care neighborhood.
We opened in 2008 to meet the increasing demand for senior housing in Northern Virginia. Loudoun County seniors already familiar with our sister communities—Greenspring in Springfield and Riderwood in Silver Spring, MD—jumped at the opportunity to enjoy the same great lifestyle even closer to home.
The first apartment homes sold quickly, and our community continues to expand today. We currently boast two clubhouses, nearly 800 independent living apartment homes, and a continuing care neighborhood—all supported by a staff of 473.
Become an Ashby Ponds insider! Join our Priority List to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, including construction announcements. You’ll be the first to hear about new apartment homes, pricing incentives, and much more.
You don’t move in and stay in. You can still work and have activities that you do outside. It’s really independent living.
Ashby Ponds is a not-for-profit community managed by Erickson Living, a network of communities with 30-plus years of experience in senior living and health care. In 1983, Charlestown opened in Catonsville Maryland and redefined senior living.
Today, more than 24,000 people in 11 states call an Erickson Living community home.
We believe that strong personal relationships are the key to our success. This philosophy extends to each member of our team as well as to our residents. We honor a diverse and inclusive workforce, and we place a high value on teamwork and open communication.
