Retirement Community Residents Help Make Going Back to School Easier

WHAT:  About 20 residents who were former educators at Ashby Ponds retirement community in Ashburn, VA, shopped for, bought, and will donate school supplies to the school-aged children of the community's employees.    BACKGROUND:  At Ashby Ponds, there are several retired Fairfax County Public School educators who have formed a resident group at the community and support education whenever they have the chance.  The residents include former teachers, school secretaries, school librarians, and a former Fairfax County School superintendent.  For the second year in a row, they have been working on a project to help make going back to school...

What:   Summer Olympics at Ashby Ponds retirement community Community residents will compete in events from golf to ping pong to water volleyball during the week of August 8-August 12 at Ashby Ponds. The first event, putting golf, is in honor of National Golf Month (August)! Ashby Ponds is also a Gold Sponsor of the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics taking place in late September. When:
