Ashburn, Virginia-- By the numbers, the Spring Open House held at Ashby Ponds on May 31 was a resounding success.

The event drew more than 250 guests to the Erickson Living community in Ashburn, Virginia. They toured 14 apartment homes in the beautiful Birch Point and Cypress Ridge residential buildings, showcasing a variety of floor plans, styles and custom features that match all tastes and budgets, and received a first-hand look at the amenities offered in the Great Oak Clubhouse.

Ashby Ponds Honors Student Scholars Class of 2018

Ashburn, Virginia— Ashby Ponds announced the 12-member Student Scholars Class of 2018 during its Annual Award Ceremony on May 21. The employees, all members of the Dining Services Department, earned four-year collegiate scholarships in the amount of $5,000.

More than $109,500 was raised during the 2018 campaign, funded primarily through resident contributions, according to Elisabeth Longworth, Philanthropy Manager for the Erickson Living retirement community. In combination with the classes from the previous three years, the community is supporting 49 collegiate scholarships this fall.

Ashburn, Virginia— For Jarka Slaninova, recognizing the many returns of the “cycle of mentorship” has been critical for her career at Ashby Ponds.

Slaninova serves as the Facilities Manager for Security & Communications. It’s an important role at the Erickson Living retirement community as she oversees 35 employees responsible for keeping the 132-acre campus safe for more than 1,300 residents and 550 co-workers.

Her security team is trained in emergency response to handle a myriad of situations, and they routinely conduct drills and review hazard elimination protocol.
