Ashby Ponds Selected as a Finalist for 2012 MOMBA Awards presented by RetirementHomes.com

Ashby Ponds, an Erickson Living retirement community in Ashburn, Va., has been nominated as a finalist for an international senior living award presented by RetirementHomes.com, North America's most popular online senior community directory.

The MOMBA Awards recognize the best marketing achievements by senior living communities worldwide in 10 unique categories. Ashby Ponds has been nominated for its April 2012 senior flash mob in the "Best Resident Events and Trips" category.  The flash mob performed at Dulles Town Center by twenty-five Ashby Ponds residents received national and international attention from a variety of media outlets from WTOP to NPR to Daily Mail.  Television news broadcasts from Washington, D.C. to Florida to Texas applauded the flash mob group for their creativity and bravery.  Videos of the flash mob went viral and received over 275,000 views on popular video sharing websites.

Nearly 200 entries were received for the 2012 MOMBA awards from senior living communities across North America, as well as South America, and Asia. Finalists were selected by a team of expert judges, and now, the general public will vote and determine the winners.

To vote, visit RetirementHomes.com/MOMBA, and score entries between 1 and 5 points (5 being the highest). Individuals can vote once per day until the deadline on September 28. The entry in each category with the highest score will receive a 2012 MOMBA award during the LeadingAge conference in Denver, Colo. in October.
