65 Residents and Staff Participate in 16th Annual Brooksby Village Marathon

Peabody, MA -- More than 65 people who live and work at Brooksby Village participated in the 16th annual Brooksby Village Marathon.

“What a great day we had this year,” said Rokia Paone, Fitness Manager, Brooksby Village. “The sun was shining and many came out to run and walk the one mile course. We also had people along the route cheering on the participants. It’s always a very popular event with both residents and staff.”

Peabody, MA - More than 200 Brooksby Village employees attended the annual Brooksby Village Winter Party at Danversport Yacht Club. At the event, the 2016 Of The Year awards were given out to four employees.

“The Winter Party is a night to celebrate and thank all Brooksby Village employees for the outstanding contributions they have made over this last year,” said Helen Lanagan, Executive Director, Brooksby Village. “It’s a wonderful night of great food, music, lots of dancing and most importantly, celebrating the great achievements of Brooksby Village employees.”

Brooksby Village Resident Makes 68x90 Quilt Featuring all 45 Presidents

Peabody, MA -- Flo Perkins, Brooksby Village resident, loves making quilts, but she wanted a challenge. After coming across an idea she saw in a book, she thought, why not make a quilt featuring all the U.S. Presidents.

“I have always enjoyed making quilts,” said Perkins. “Years ago before I made this one I wanted a new challenge and a quilt featuring all the United States Presidents was the answer! It took me more than a year to complete it!”

Peabody, MA - Joan Pappalardo began creating her Dept. 56, North Pole Village years ago with just a few pieces. Some houses were purchased, and some were gifts, but each year her village grew a little larger.

Now, 13 years later, she and her companion, John Murphy, both live at Brooksby Village retirement community in Peabody, unveiled their North Pole Village at 15 feet long and 6 and 8 feet deep.

Peabody, MA – When Sandy Kozlen moved to Brooksby Village with his wife Phyllis from CA, he realized he had dozens of ties he wasn’t wearing anymore.
