Peabody, MA- People who live and work at Brooksby Village kicked off spring with a number of Tropical Heat Wave events! "What better way to kick off the season than with a full day of activities themed around fun in the sun," said Fran Gerrior, Community Resources Lead Coodinator, Brooksby Village.  "We have had a few nice days so everyone is ready to kick off spring!" Saturday, March 31 at 1:30pm Peabody, MA -Fifty students currently working at Brooksby Village will perform in a Variety Show to benefit The Brooksby Village Scholarship Fund on Saturday, March 31 at 1:30pm. "In 2007 we had our very first variety show and it was a huge hit," said John Daly, Staff Development Manager, Brooksby Village.  "Students will sing, dance, play instruments and perform in skits.  We hope to raise a lot of money for the Brooksby Village Student Scholarship Fund." The Afghan Group at Brooksby Village Celebrates 5 Years

Afghan group has made over 300 afghans for various local abused women shelters Peabody, MA -After September 11, 2001, Beverly Kenworthy knew she had to do something to help others.  She looked in her local paper and read about how the Acton library was looking for people to sew afghans together for local abused women and their children. 10 years later she is celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the Afghan Group at Brooksby Village and she continues her goodwill with the help of 50 other women who also live at Brooksby Village. Brooksby Village has promoted Helen Lanagan of Burlington, MA to the position of Associate Executive Director at Brooksby Village. Lanagan has been at Brooksby Village since March of 2005 when she was hired to open Brooksby Village's visiting nurse services.  In May of 2007 she was promoted to Director of Resident Life and in June of 2011 she was promoted to Director of Operations. Marine's dog tag was found in Saipan Peabody, MA  -- Richard Urie a U.S. Marine Corps had his identification tag, which was lost during World War II and found in Saipan, returned to him where he lives at Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA after 60 years.  U.S. attorney Timothy E.
