Hundreds Who Live and Work at Brooksby Village to Participate in 11th Annual Brooksby Village Marathon

Wednesday, May 23 at 11am Peabody, MA - People who live and work at Brooksby Village will walk a mile and raise money for the Benevolent Care Fund at the 11th Annual Brooksby Marathon. "Every year we have hundreds of people participate in the Brooksby Village marathon," said Stefanie Fuller, Fitness Specialist,  Brooksby Village.  "It's a wonderful event and everyone loves to participate either as a walker or a cheerleader." Students Honored with Brooksby Village Scholarship at Award Ceremony, Wednesday May 23 at 7pm Peabody, MA - This fall 34 local students working at Brooksby Village will be heading to college and for some, continuing on with their college/trade school education with financial help thanks to the over 1700 people who live at Brooksby Village.  Thirty four students from the North Shore area will receive the Brooksby Village Scholarship. Mariela Canela Recipient of the 8th Annual Carol Dooley Scholarship Award at Brooksby Village

Peabody, MA -   Mariela Canela from Peabody, is the recipient of the 8th annual Carol Dooley Scholarship Award. Canela works in the Dining Services Department at Brooksby Village as a Service Coach and attends Northshore Community College.  Canela will receive a $1000.00 towards her education at Northshore Community College.   She is the daughter of Claudino Canela who also works at Brooksby Village as a Utility Worker. Sarah Niles Named Community Resources Coordinator at Brooksby Village

Peabody, MA -- Sarah Niles has been named Community Resources Coordinator at Brooksby Village.   Niles will act as the residents' primary contact for the creation of new activities/events and organizations.   She will partner with residents in planning, promoting and coordinating events, activities, interest groups and educational programs.  She will also serve as the liaison between the community and outside organizations. Peabody, MA -Fifty students currently working at Brooksby Village performed and assisted in a Variety Show to benefit The Brooksby Village Scholarship Fund and raised over $2400. Peabody, MA- People who live and work at Brooksby Village kicked off spring with a number of Tropical Heat Wave events! Afghan group has made over 300 afghans for various local abused women shelters Peabody, MA -After September 11, 2001, Beverly Kenworthy knew she had to do something to help others.  She looked in her local paper and read about how the Acton library was looking for people to sew afghans together for local abused women and their children. 10 years later she is celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the Afghan Group at Brooksby Village and she continues her goodwill with the help of 50 other women who also live at Brooksby Village. Brooksby Village has promoted Helen Lanagan of Burlington, MA to the position of Associate Executive Director at Brooksby Village. Lanagan has been at Brooksby Village since March of 2005 when she was hired to open Brooksby Village's visiting nurse services.  In May of 2007 she was promoted to Director of Resident Life and in June of 2011 she was promoted to Director of Operations.
