Candidates Running For State Rep Speak at Brooksby Village

Peabody, MA -- People who live at Brooksby Village filled the Chapel to meet all six candidates running for State Representative.

Each candidate had 5 minutes to talk about themselves and then it was opened up to many questions from Brooksby Village residents.

People who live at Brooksby Village will have the opportunity to vote on site at Brooksby Village at the Primary elections on Feb 2.

Peabody, MA -- In recognition of what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday this Saturday December 12, Brooksby Village celebrated his birthday with “An Afternoon with Frank.”

More than 200 people attended the event led by Brooksby Village residents Joan Pappalardo and John Murphy.

People who live and work at the Peabody Retirement Community performed many of Frank Sinatra’s hits at the very special karaoke event.

Peabody, MA -- Kim Bolduc, Brooksby Village’s Catering & Events Coordinator, and the winter color guard she has taught for 6 years, St. Ann’s from Neponset, MA, competed at the 2015 Winter Guard International World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. Peabody, MA – Hundreds of people who live at Brooksby Village attended the annual Brooksby Village Gala celebrating the 100 th birthday of Frank Sinatra. More than $75,000 was raised for the Resident Care Fund.

“The Gala is the biggest event of the year and looks forward to this event,” said Kim Whitworth, Philanthropy Manager, Brooksby Village. “This year would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday so the evening was themed after Frank. From an impersonator, to Frank Sinatra signature drinks and the attire, the evening was dedicated to Frank Sinatra.”

90 Yr Old Brooksby Village Resident Dyes Hair Pink for Cancer Research!

Peabody, MA -- When Henrietta Buckner’s friend dared her $100 to dye her hair pink, she didn’t even think twice about it!

The 90 year old Brooksby Village resident and retired nurse marched downstairs to the Hair Salon at Brooksby Village and had her hairdresser, Bernice, dye it pink for her!

Now Henrietta’s friend has mailed her a check for $100 which Henrietta will donate to a cancer research hospital. And she is keeping it pink for a while!

Peabody, MA -- People who live and work at Brooksby Village came together to walk in the 2015 Walk To End Alzheimer’s in Andover, MA and raised over $1800.

Brooksby Village Resident Producing Fine Woodcrafts for 30+ years

Peabody, MA -- For over 30 years Ingrid Jochimsen, who lives at Brooksby Village, has been producing and selling fine woodcrafts in Massachusetts from best materials available. What began as a project for a school fundraiser years ago, has now become a living for Jochimsen.

“I spend many hours at my workshop making all kinds of wooden items,” said Jochimsen. “Wood is a natural product and therefore cannot be reproduced exactly. As a result, each product is a unique work of art.”
