44 Local Students Head to College With Brooksby Village Scholarship

  Previous Brooksby Village Student Scholarship Recipient Works at Brooksby Village Full-Time Peabody, MA - This fall 44 local students working at Brooksby Village will head to college and for some, continuing on with their college/trade school education with financial help thanks to the over 1900 people who live at Brooksby Village.  Forty four students from the North Shore will receive the Brooksby Village Student Scholarship. The Afghan Group at Brooksby Village Knitting for Local Charities All Year Round

Peabody, MA - The Afghan Group at Brooksby Village knit all year round to help local shelters.  Most recently they have been working with Transitions at Devens and HAWC in Salem. "We make afghans all year round, said Roberta Gosselin, Brooksby Village resident.  "The two shelters we are working with right now are shelters for abused women and children." Michael DeVito Promoted to Senior Facility Manager at Brooksby Village

Peabody, MA --  Michael DeVito, of Saugus, has been promoted to Senior Facility Manager at Brooksby Village.  He will be in charge of Maintenance and Engineering at Brooksby Village.

Tracie Bettano Named Director of Continuing Care at Brooksby Village

Peabody, MA -- Tracie Bettano of Topsfield, MA has been promoted to Director of Continuing Care at Brooksby Village. Former Boston Broadcaster Helping Others Quit Smoking After Cancer Diagnosis

Peabody, MA - Bob Mehrman, a former broadcaster on Boston TV and Boston radio, smoked for years.  When he finally realized smoking wasn't good for him, he quit.  Two years later he was diagnosed with cancer of the larynx due to smoking.   In 1990 he underwent a laryngectomy, the surgical removal of his voice box and now talks with an electrolarynx, the handheld device that creates vibration that allows him to speak.

A Giant Turkey and Brooksby Village Residents Will Walk Together for Haven From Hunger

Peabody, MA - One large turkey and hundreds of people from Brooksby Village will participate in the annual Turkey Trot at Brooksby Village on Wednesday, November 20 at 11am.

Over the last few weeks, people donated canned goods and other food donations and both will be presented to Haven From Hunger before the walk at 11am.  Then walkers will walk a mile around the campus.
