Local Students Working at Brooksby Village Learn Group Unity and Team Building at Local Ropes Course

September 23, 2013

Peabody, MA - A group of high school and college students who are employed as Service Coaches at Brooksby Village spent the day at Project Adventure's Outdoor Recreation Project.
Thirty four Service Coaches worked together for the day on a number of outdoor projects and obstacles including a ropes course.
"This day long adventure encourages group unity, team building, communication and more," said John Daly, Staff Development Manager, Brooksby Village.  "We have taken this leadership team of students each summer for the past few years and it was a huge success.  The students had a great time and learned a lot about themselves and eachother"

More than 260 students work in the five restaurants at Brooksby Village.  They can either wait on and bus tables or work in the kitchen.   They can also apply for a cook's assistant position.
Students must then apply and interview with Brooksby Village managers for the Service Coaches promotion.  If they get the job as a Service Coach, they assist in training new student employees and act as a leader to other student employees.
