60 Women, who live at Brooksby Village and were Girl Scouts, will Gather together in Green to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts

Monday, March 12 at 2pm at Brooksby Village

Peabody, MA - Some of the women have their Girl Scout pins, some have their original Girl Scout uniforms, and some have photos. On Monday, March 12 women all over the country will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts and more than 60 women who were Girl Scouts and live at Brooksby Village will gather together to reminisce and celebrate. "We have many women who live here and were a Girl Scout at some point in their life," said Fran Gerrior, Community Resources Coordinator.  "One resident still has her original Girl Scout uniform and may wear it to the party, many have pins and every one of them has memories.  It will be a wonderful event." The event will begin at 2pm and the women, all in green, will sing songs, reminisce, watch a video showcasing some of the residents and their memories and then have cake. They will also enjoy an impersonation of Girl Scout Founder, Juliette Gorgon Lowe. If you would like to cover this event, please call Dani Baldassare at 978/536-7905. Brooksby Village has three large clubhouses featuring an on-site medical center, staffed by full-time doctors, five restaurants, two convenience stores, two beauty parlors, a TV studio, a swimming pool, activity rooms, classrooms, game rooms and even two branches of a bank.  Residents also have the opportunity to take part in hundreds of different clubs and activities.  The community also has its own Interfaith Chapel on campus that serves as the physical foundation for a strong faith-based community.
