POMPTON PLAINS, NJ - National Dance Day is this Saturday, July 26th and is being celebrated throughout the country. It will also be prominently highlighted at the Cedar Crest active adult retirement community that day from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Media will have a wonderful opportunity to capture some great images and sound of seniors debunking the myth that they typically lead a sedentary, quiet lifestyle. They will inject a little boom, boom boogie in their bodies!
At least 25 seniors are expected, possibly upwards of 50 or more, who will learn a synchronized dance move taught by the creators of this national project - The Dizzy Feet Foundation.
Launched in 2010, National Dance Day is an annual celebration campaign that encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way.
The project was developed in 2010 by So You Think You Can Dance television show co-creator, judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe and dance director Adam Shankman, amongst others.
The Dizzy Feet Foundation was developed to support, improve and increase access to dance education in the United States.
The event will take place in the Cedar Crest Woodland Commons Clubhouse Conference Center. Cedar Crest is located at One Cedar Crest Village Drive, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444. Media interested in obtaining wonderful photos, video and interviews should call Tony Ciavolella for more information.
