Charlestown Celebrates 5th Annual Mission Moment Masters

February 27, 2020

32 employees recognized for going above and beyond to serve residents and living company values

Catonsville, Md. – February 27, 2020 – Last month, dozens of team members at Charlestown, a senior living community managed by Erickson Living, gathered in The Gallery for a special ceremony.

The 5th Annual Mission Moment Masters Celebration was held to recognize 32 employees who, throughout the calendar year of 2019, best exhibited the Erickson Living values of respect and caring, diversity, friendliness and enthusiasm, integrity, responsibility, excellence, and teamwork.

Throughout the year, the entire Charlestown staff, about 1,200 employees in all, are welcomed to submitted "Mission Moments" recognizing fellow team members for a job well done, whether that is going above and beyond in their commitment to residents or supporting a colleague in need of a helping hand.

The community's Values Team reviews all Mission Moments each month and select three or four that stand out, to be recognized as Masters. At the annual ceremony, award winners receive a framed certificate, pin, and gift card. This year, there were 25 first-time winners, six two-time winners and one third-time winner. The sought-after "Prolific Pen Award" went to three individuals who wrote the most Mission Moments throughout the year.

"The extra effort that our team puts forth each and every day is what sets Charlestown apart," said Jennie Mattes, Senior Human Resources Manager at Charlestown. "Our employees don't just come to work each day to do a job, but rather are driven by our shared mission to help people live better lives. That is evident in all of their Mission Moments and we're proud to celebrate their commitment to our core values today."
