The holiday season just got a little brighter for more than 1000 hourly employees at Charlestown.
Whether serving a meal in one of the seven restaurants or maintaining the scenic 110-acre campus, hourly staff work hard to enhance the vibrant retirement lifestyle of Charlestown residents all year long. Now, their service and dedication are being recognized through the community's Staff Appreciation Fund.
A total of $256,000 was raised from resident contributions. 1,030 eligible hourly employees received distributions from the fund, less taxes, from Charlestown residents at scheduled times and locations across the community on December 4.
"Throughout the year, Charlestown residents donate to the Staff Appreciation Fund in recognition of the wonderful work our employees do. It's just one way to thank them for another remarkable year of helping people live better lives," said Clara Parker, Executive Director.
This year, Charlestown celebrated 35 years of excellence in senior living. The Catonsville campus is the flagship community for industry leader Erickson Living, which operates 18 other communities in 11 states.
Charlestown is located in Baltimore County and is home to more than 2,000 residents who are supported by a team of more than 1,200 employees. Additional information about Charlestown can be found at CharlestownCommunity.com.
