(Palm Beach Gardens, Florida) - Devonshire at PGA National recently hosted their very own walk to support the fight against Alzheimer's. Residents and staff walked around the community, located in Palm Beach Gardens, and each carried flower pinwheels to symbolize their connection with Alzheimer's and reason for walking. At the end of the walk, residents and staff "planted" their pinwheels in the herb garden located at the community. Devonshire at PGA National, along with its associated continuing care neighborhood Chatsworth at PGA National, also participated in the local Walk to End Alzheimer's, coordinated by the Alzheimer's Association, on Saturday, October 10th in West Palm Beach.
According to the Alzheimer's Association, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer's every 67 seconds. The Association also reports that it's the 6th leading cause of death in the country.
