October 15th Declared "Eagle's Trace Day" by Houston City Officials

HOUSTON, TX---Eagle's Trace, the Erickson Living retirement community in West Houston, received the ultimate honor from its municipal leaders.
October 15th was "Eagle's Trace Day," as declared by Houston Mayor Annise Parker and the Houston City Council.
Fifteen residents and employees attended the public ceremony that took place in the City Hall Council Chamber during an afternoon session.  The recommendation to honor Eagle's Trace was initiated by City Councilman Oliver Pennington.
"It is an exciting day for all of our residents and employees," stated Ben Cornthwaite, Executive Director.  "We are honored by this recognition which truly reaffirms that Eagle's Trace is helping people to live better lives.  Since 2005, we have placed great value on being a good neighbor in West Houston; collectively, we will continue our mission to share our gifts to create communities that celebrate life."

"Whereas, the City of Houston commends and appreciates for its commitment to providing comfortable and affordable living, entertainment and care for our seniors...Annise D. Parker, Mayor of the City of Houston, hereby proclaim(s) October 15, 2013 as Eagle's Trace Day."

It has been a milestone year for Eagle's Trace.  On June 11th, the campus opened its continuing care neighborhood, with 112 spacious suites and residences, including assisted living, memory care, post-acute rehabilitation and nursing care services.  The project is creating 120 new jobs in the area.
