Beautiful Campus a Year-Round Collaboration at Eagle's Trace

Houston, Texas—For residents and employees of Eagle’s Trace, the 70-acre campus of the Erickson Living retirement community is a source of beauty…and pride!

It takes hard work and expertise to keep the grounds looking attractive year-round, particularly with the heat and humidity of Houston in the summer months.

Mark Batterson, the former Director of General Services at Eagle’s Trace who was recently promoted to a regional leadership position as Director, Resident General Services, for Erickson Living in Baltimore, explains:

“Juan Sierra is the Senior Facilities Manager at Eagle’s Trace, and he does a great job of partnering with our landscaping contractor and its team to ensure that our standards are met.  A natural water well on campus also helps us during the dry season since Lake Aquila is mostly dependent on rain cycles.”

“Additionally, we receive input from residents with horticultural backgrounds and do our best to heed their advice when appropriate.  In fact, we have active resident-led groups who enjoy tending to our rose beds on campus as well as the wildflower gardens located on the north and south sides of Lake Aquila.  It’s a win-win for everyone!”

These efforts make Eagle’s Trace even more appealing for residents who walk throughout the campus grounds as a popular health and wellness activity…or just take a leisurely stroll after dinner.
