He also served as president of Redwood Capital Investments, an investment company with assets in excess of $1 billion, which focused on investing in privately held companies, real estate, and special opportunities.
Alan has served on numerous boards, including the board of Redwood Capital’s portfolio companies and the executive board of the University of Maryland Medical Systems. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a master of business administration degree from Loyola University in Maryland.

Debra B. DoyleChief Operating Officer
Prior to becoming COO, she served as executive vice president for health and operations for Erickson Living. Before joining the company, Deb was the chief nursing officer and general manager for medical services for the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She earned her M.B.A. and B.S. from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College. She received her R.N. degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and a certification in senior living housing from Johns Hopkins University.

Todd MatthiesenChief Financial Officer
Previously, Todd served as vice president of finance for Erickson Living. Prior to joining the company, he was vice president of operations for TEKsystems, Inc. Todd graduated from High Point College in North Carolina as a Presidential Scholar with a degree in accounting, business administration, and economics.

Tom NeubauerExecutive Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Communications
Prior to joining Erickson Living, Tom spent 14 years with the Xerox Corporation in sales management and product specialist roles. He graduated from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania with a degree in business and marketing.

Sean SandsExecutive Vice President, Business Strategy and Development
Before joining Erickson Living, Sean was regional vice president and head of the Maryland corporate banking division of Wells Fargo. He holds a bachelor of business administration in business economics and a master of business administration degree from the Sellinger School.

Susan OliveriGeneral Counsel
Prior to joining Erickson Living, she was a corporate and real estate attorney at Miles & Stockbridge, a regional law firm in Maryland. She also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence Rodowsky at the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Susan earned a J.D. from the University of Baltimore and a B.B.A. in finance and marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.

Matthew Narrett, M.D.Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Matt graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a B.S. in molecular biochemistry and biophysics and received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School’s Harvard-M.I.T. Division of Health Sciences and Technology. He completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He is board-certified in internal medicine and holds a certificate of added qualifications in geriatric medicine.

Gregg ColonSenior Vice President, Health Services
Prior to joining Erickson Living, Gregg was senior vice president of resident care and services for Sunrise Senior Living, where he was responsible for care-related programming and standards for more than 300 senior living communities in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Georgetown University.

Rick SlossonSenior Vice President, Development
Rick has more than three decades of expertise in the construction, development, and land-use industries, including as executive vice president for assisted living company Sunrise Development and as owner of Turtle Creek Development. He received his B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Virginia.

Tanya AxensonSenior Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer
Before joining Erickson Living, Tanya was vice president and chief human resources officer at Aerotek, one of the nation’s largest global recruiting and staffing agencies, where she led their human resources team and supported 8,500+ internal employees and 100,000+ contract employees with international staffing and engineering solutions. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and a law degree from Harvard University.
