Fox Run Launches My Erickson App to Enhance Community Connections

October 29, 2018

Earlier this month, Fox Run launched My Erickson, a digital app for residents. Since its launch on October 1, 2018, nearly 50 percent of Fox Run residents have activated the app.

"It has been really rewarding to see such a tremendous response from our residents," said Ashley Martin, Associate Executive Director at Fox Run. "As Fox Run continues to grow, we want to be able to maintain that small-town feel that we have enjoyed for 15 years. The My Erickson app is an important tool to help do that, by providing another unique opportunity for members of our community to connect."

Fox Run celebrated its 15th anniversary this year and in August, opened the doors to Edison Place, the community's tenth residential building.

My Erickson was developed by Erickson Living in response to resident demand and research which reflects that today's seniors are becoming more connected than ever and have a strong interest in digital technologies and applications that can easily connect them with community services and programs.

The free app enhances Fox Run's retirement lifestyle by providing residents with easy, instant access to diverse information sources, including community information such as maps and phone numbers, messages, dining menus, activity calendars, transit schedules, local directories, staff information and much more. Family members of residents are also welcomed to download My Erickson to stay connected and keep up with what is happening at Fox Run.

To introduce residents to all My Erickson has to offer, the community held a "Launch Day" event on October 1. For three hours, 12 different "Activation Tables" were set up with staff and resident volunteers to help as many residents as possible get the app activated on their mobile devices. Many residents downloaded the app to two or three devices, including their mobile phones and tablets.

More than two dozen trained resident volunteers will continue to be available through November to support new My Erickson users as they activate and engage with the app.

"Right now, we are focused on getting residents comfortable using My Erickson. We look forward to continuing to update the app itself as new features are desired and become available," said Martin. "We're already getting a lot of great feedback and suggestions for enhancements that we hope to integrate soon to optimize the residents' experience."

Fox Run is one of 19 continuing care retirement communities managed by Erickson Living®, is situated on a scenic 108-acre campus in Novi, Michigan. The community is located in Oakland County and is home to nearly 1,300 residents who are supported by a team of more than 750 employees.
