Fox Run breaks ground on new continuing care building

Fox Run Celebrates Groundbreaking for New Continuing Care Building

Novi’s premier continuing care retirement community expands options for senior health care

Novi, Mich. – September 17, 2019 – Fox Run, a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living, launched the construction of a new 89-unit assisted living building yesterday. At a groundbreaking ceremony on the community’s picturesque 108-acre campus in Novi, more than 200 residents, staff and guests gathered to celebrate the expansion of Rose Court, Fox Run’s continuing care neighborhood, which has been recognized with the highest five-star quality rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Participating in the groundbreaking were Marlene Visconti, Fox Run Resident Advisory Council’s Liaison of Health; former Health Committee Chairs Emma Lou Benedict and J.V. Anandan; Doreen Poupard, Director Living in the Community; James Hayes and Michael Roskiewicz, both members of the Fox Run Board of Directors, as well as Fox Run’s Executive Team including Mike McCormick, Executive Director; Ashley Bulat, Associate Executive Director; and Lisa Lorius, Director of Continuing Care.

Several local and state officials also attended the ceremony, including Michigan State Senator James Runestad, City Manager Pete Auger, Assistant City Manager Victor Cardenas, City of Novi Director of Communications Sheryl Walsh-Molloy, Community Development Director Charles Boulard, and Community Relations Specialist Nathan Mueller.

The new building is part of Fox Run’s multi-year plan to expand and enhance its continuing care residences, along with many amenity spaces. It will connect to Rose Court and share the same front entrance.

Along with the new building, a link will be added to connect Fox Run’s continuing care neighborhood to independent living for the first time in the community’s history. In 2020, the community will also undergo renovations in Rose Court to continue evolving its memory care offerings to meet and exceed the needs of residents.

“As the only continuing care retirement community in Oakland County, Fox Run leads the way in providing the full continuum of care to seniors in our community,” said McCormick. “I am so excited and proud to begin work on this new building, because it means that we will be able to bring high-quality, person-centered care to help more seniors and their loved ones live better lives.”

In addition to beautiful new residences and state-of-the-art amenities, Fox Run community members will have the opportunity to enjoy a roof-top garden on the third level, along with sunrooms and activity rooms throughout. The new building will also create an enclosed courtyard space that will feature a bocce ball court and enclosed exterior fireplace, among other features including the existing putting green, gentleman’s workshop and more.

Fox Run expects to welcome residents to the new building in the spring of 2021.

The project’s architect is Baltimore-based Hord Coplan Macht.

The community’s continued growth will create new career opportunities. For more information about joining the talented team at Fox Run, please visit jobs.ericksonliving.com.
