Greenspring Donates 800 Turkeys with Funds Raised from 10th Annual Turkey Trot

(Springfield, Va.) - On Friday, November 16, Greenspring residents and staff participated in the retirement community's 10 th Annual Turkey Trot, raising money to provide Thanksgiving turkeys to area families in need.  Greenspring's wellness and fitness staff organize the event each year, which continues to grow annually, according to Greenspring's Wellness Manager, Brad Hibbs.

"So many of the residents recognize that they are fortunate and are willing to help," said Hibbs. "They are incredibly generous."

Four Washington, D.C.-area mission organizations are receiving turkeys from Greenspring this year including SOME (So Others Might Eat)...

Resident Bob Zikowitz, U.S. Army (Ret.), who served as the Master of Ceremonies, said "we are here to honor all those who have made the supreme sacrifice." Seniors at Greenspring retirement community celebrate Halloween in haunting style

Celebrating a Local Sculptor During National Arts and Humanities Month

Greenspring's Continuing Care Neighborhood Receives a Five-Star Rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

(SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA) - The Continuing Care neighborhood at Greenspring retirement community received the highest score in the Five-Star Quality Rating System administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  The Erickson Living community, located in Springfield, Va., earned a 5-star rating in the Overall Quality category in August 2012.
