Greenspring Hosts Over Two Hundred Residents and Guests at 13th Annual Benevolent Care Fund Gala

October 2, 2012

(SPRINGFIELD, VIRGINIA) - More than two hundred residents and special guests attended the 13th annual Benevolent Care Fund Gala at Greenspring retirement community on Friday, September 28.  This year, "The Roaring 20's"-themed event was highlighted with a performance by The Creole Jumbo Jazz Band.
"The Gala is the biggest charity event each year at Greenspring," said Greenspring's Director of Philanthropy, Kimberly Nelson.  "It's always a wonderful night celebrating the generosity of residents, families, staff, our community friends, and our Board of Directors."
The gala is part of a series of year-long charity events arranged to raise money for the community's Benevolent Care Fund.  This year, $480,000 has been raised for the fund, which provides support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources.  The money raised for the fund allows residents to continue living at Greenspring, as well as receive the care that they need.
"The spirit of our community is always felt throughout everything that we do, each and every day," said Robin Gliboff, Greenspring's Executive Director.  "This is certainly one cause in which we feel our collective spirits very strongly."
Very special thanks to the dozens of Benevolent Care Fund Gala sponsors including Cypress Contracting LLC, Greenspring Treasure Chest, Ready Hands Home Care, Harold McGraw, Arris a Design Studio, Inc, Paulette Damm, Victor N. Coleman, Jr., Contemporary Electrical Services Inc., Greenspring Village Church, Sue Mathis, NOVAGold, Positive Contractors, Inc., Columbia at Greenspring, Daubers, Inc., Capt. and Mrs. Francis Gerow, Alfred and Claire Grande, NeighborCare Professional Pharmacies, and many, many more.
