Retirement community creates one-stop shop for apartment home custom interiors

Springfield, Va. – Greenspring, a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living, recently opened a brand-new Design Suite to give both current and prospective residents a convenient place to view all of the options available for customizing the interior of their independent living apartment home.

Featuring everything from flooring to window coverings, the new Design Suite provides a unique opportunity for residents to see and feel a wide array of standard options and custom upgrades in person.

Personal touch

With the help of Greenspring's experienced Custom Interiors team, residents can create their dream apartment home to suit their unique retirement lifestyle. In addition to serving as a showplace, the new Design Suite offers a dedicated space for residents to meet with Greenspring's interior design experts Janet Story and Barbara McAlpines to discuss their vision and develop a personalized plan.

"We want every resident's apartment to be their home, exactly the way they want it," said Story. "Now, with the Design Suite, we have more opportunity to meet with residents one-on-one and take our time looking at all of the options."

Fixtures and finishes

The Design Suite was carefully configured to incorporate as many fixtures and upgrades as possible to help residents visualize how the features might look in their own apartment home.

"For most people, it's difficult to visualize," said Story. "To be able to see, feel and touch so many options in one space is a huge advantage."

Among the options on display in the Design Suite are custom cabinetry, vinyl plank flooring, custom closets, window décor including valances and mini-blinds, custom bathroom upgrades including faucet, sink, shower head and countertops, extra-deep kitchen cabinets, and recessed lighting.

In addition to these features, Greenspring offers a multitude of polished upgrades and finishes, including: luxury vinyl plank flooring, personalized built-in closets and shelving, recessed lighting with dimmer switch, upgraded cabinetry and pantries, Berber and plush carpeting, plantation shutters and blinds, ceramic tile, quartz and specialty granite countertops, designer paint colors, crown molding and chair rails, custom appliances, premium bath and kitchen fixtures, and more.

All four colors of standard paint are included on the walls of the Design Suite so that residents can see what each one looks like in real life, not just on a sample.

"Residents are thrilled that they have a space where they can stop and look at everything," said Story.

Open for business

More than 100 people attended a recent open house introducing the Design Suite to the Greenspring community. Story says the Custom Interiors team looks forward to hosting more events in the future. In the meantime, current Greenspring residents can visit the Design Suite to set up an appointment to meet with a Custom Interiors professional or peruse all of the options available for customizing their apartment home.
