Highland Springs Celebrates Women’s History Month

Dallas, Texas-- More than 100 residents, employees and family members attended a special “Lunch and Learn” at Highland Springs to celebrate Women’s History Month on March 26. During the intergenerational event, a video montage of eight female residents was shown in which they described their career paths and personal journeys of raising families.

Dallas, Texas— As a six-year old boy in France, Patrick Becquet did not have to look far for culinary inspiration.

“My father was a pastry chef, and my godfather was a chef so the family meals were magnificent,” stated Chef Patrick. “Observing them in the kitchen influenced my choice of career without question.”

Three resident teams of Highland Springs, an Erickson Living retirement community in North Dallas, collaborated once again to provide beautiful hand-made toy cradle sets, fire trucks and toys to local charities for distribution to children and families in need in the Dallas area. Resident woodworkers of the Woodchuck Group design and construct the cradles, fire trucks and toys. A group of talented painters then decorate them. Dallas, Texas-- Highland Springs, an Erickson Living retirement community in North Dallas, was the top fundraising team in Collin County at this year’s Grandscape Walk to End Alzheimer’s with more than $25,000 contributed. The event was held on Saturday, September 29.

Highland Springs Opens Twin Oaks Square Residence Building

Dallas, Texas— The first residents are moving into Twin Oaks Square, the new independent living building opened in August at Highland Springs.

Twin Oaks Square features 109 residences with nine new floor plans in a variety of one-and two-bedroom floor plans. It also houses a new dining venue, the Lone Star Pub.
