Team Highland Springs Walks to End Alzheimer’s

Dallas, Texas— Taking it one step a time, residents and employees of Highland Springs made a big difference for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Erickson Living retirement community held its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 28 around its beautiful Blue Bonnet Lake.

More than 100 people participated, including employees, residents from the independent living, memory care and assisted living neighborhoods and family members. They walked a half-mile around the lake and enjoyed music and games throughout the event.

Celebration Cruise Showcases 10th Anniversary of Highland Springs

Dallas, Texas-- Honoring its history and looking forward to a bright future, Highland Springs hosted a three-day party for its 10th anniversary. They did it in style on the “high seas” of the campus as residents boarded the specially decorated Lido Deck to set sail on the Celebration Cruise, the theme for the festivities. The commemoration began on September 15 at a dinner ceremony in which the Erickson Living retirement community honored its “founding members,” the 102 pioneer residents who moved or reserved in 2006 and the 14 employees who began working at the campus the same year....

Dallas, Texas— For two weeks, Americans were mesmerized by the brilliance of gymnast Simone Biles, the record-setting performance of swimmer Michael Phelps and the continued dominance of both the men’s and women’s basketball squads.

The Summer Olympics in Rio brought many golden memories for Team USA, but residents of Highland Springs earned their own medals, too.

2016 Student Scholars’ Awards a “Win-Win” at Highland Springs

Dallas, Texas— Highland Springs, the Erickson Living retirement community, awarded ten students employed in its Dining Services Department with collegiate scholarships during a luncheon ceremony held on June 11.

The value of these awards is $1,000 per semester for a four-year total of $8,000 paid directly to their accredited higher education institution.

A fundraising drive in May generated more than $38,000 for the program, mainly from contributions by residents. To be eligible, students must work at least 1,000 hours at Highland Springs during a two-year period and be in good employment and academic standing.
