Dallas, Texas—For Bill and Margaret Bogle, the 300-mile journey to Highland Springs was inspired by family.
"We were living in Little Rock, Arkansas, but wanted to be closer to our daughter in Dallas," described Mrs. Bogle. "During our visits to see her, we toured some other senior living communities but nothing clicked until we found Highland Springs."
By July, 2011, they had joined the community's priority list, but a health issue faced by their daughter forced the Bogles to expedite the process.
"The sales team treated us with respect and understood the situation," recalled Mrs. Bogle. "We selected a Fairmont floor plan, and while I was still working, our home in Little Rock was staged and sold. The personal moving consultant for Highland Springs and the moving company that partners with the community were outstanding."
Before they moved into their new two-bedroom apartment, Mr. and Mrs. Bogle met with the customer interiors team to select added options like hardwood flooring and a larger pantry for the kitchen.
"Nearly seven years later, we still love the Fairmont," said Mrs. Bogle, a retired nutritional scientist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. "We converted the second bedroom into a den where Bill and I each have a computer. In fact, custom interiors created a special 'double desk' for us."
In the den, Mrs. Bogle, an avid needlepoint worker, stores her thread and canvas; Mr. Bogle, a retired administrator with the Arkansas Children's Hospital, works on a project with his son, a professional musician. Mr. Bogle has catalogued more than 4,500 CD's and LP's for his son, a teacher at Cedar Valley College.
"Another reason we enjoy living here is the ample sunlight. Our bedroom, living room and den all face the east. We have large windows with plantation shutters in each of those rooms, and the sun makes our home feel bright and cheery," noted Mrs. Bogle.
Highland Springs offers a wide selection of one and two-bedroom apartment homes in a variety of floor plans to fit most floor plans and budgets.
"Our residents can select a style that matches their taste and budget," noted Christina Christie, Director of Sales and Marketing. "And like Bill and Margaret, they are able to create their 'dream homes' with the help of our custom interior professionals so they can enjoy life at Highland Springs."
Which Mr. and Mrs. Bogle do! Bill takes classes offered by the fitness center, and Margaret volunteers with Howdy Highland Springs, a resident-produced television show broadcast on the community's in-house TV station, and serves as president of the Government Affairs Group.
