Highland Springs has exciting news! The Erickson Living-managed community in North Dallas recently opened reservations for the fourth and final building in its second neighborhood. Edgewater Place, now under construction and scheduled to open in summer 2021, will feature 107 new apartment homes in a variety of one- and two-bedroom floor plans.

"Edgewater Place is our final building on campus facing the lake, so many of the apartments will offer incredible views," says Sales Director Christina Christie, who has worked at Highland Springs since it opened. "We are now completing our second neighborhood on the very ground where the welcome center sat back in 2005. It's exciting to watch the community grow from the ground up."

Edgewater Place brings back some of the most popular floor plans that have sold out elsewhere on campus.

"Every floor plan will feature a patio or screened-in porch, even floor plans that have not historically offered them," says Christie.

Amenities planned for Edgewater Place include Table Eighty-Ninety, a sit-down restaurant with a bar area, and a new classroom for clubs and activities.

"8090 is the building's address," says Christie. "What a cool, modern name for the new dining venue in Edgewater Place. We're also excited to offer another gathering place for our growing number of resident-led clubs and activities." '

Best place to retire

Highland Springs' steady growth in recent years mirrors Dallas' increasing popularity as a retirement destination. Dallas is among Forbes' 25 picks for this year's Best Places to Retire list, which seeks to "identify retirement value—[communities] that offer a high quality of life at an affordable price."

Among the benefits cited by Forbes, Dallas offers a relatively low cost of living, an adequate number of physicians per capita, a vibrant culture scene, a median home price that's 21% below the national median, lack of state income and inheritance tax, good climate, good air quality, and the city has a high rank on the Milken Institute's list Best Cities For Successful Aging.

Highland Springs mirrors those qualities that make Dallas appealing. Located on 89 scenic areas, Highland Springs offers spacious, maintenance-free apartment homes, all with easy access to a host of amenities and services, including a swimming pool, fitness center, restaurants, and a convenient on-site medical center.

There are over 100 clubs and activities to keep body, mind, and spirit thriving, plus the full continuum of care offered on campus.

"We're continuing to see a strong demand for the lifestyle at Highland Springs," says Christie. "For those who are interested in the new apartments coming soon in Edgewater Place, this is the time to call our sales team and learn more about all the wonderful things happening in our community."
