DALLAS, TX---Move over, Hollywood! The red carpet was rolled out at Highland Springs for the 6th Annual Gala on September 14th.
Over three hundred residents, employees and friends of the Erickson Living retirement community in North Dallas wore their black-tie best while "Puttin' On the Glitz," the theme of this year's event.
Proceeds from the gala supported the community's Resident Care Fund.
"The Annual Gala is a celebration of the generous spirit of our residents, employees and community partners of Highland Springs," stated Matt Neville, Associate Executive Director. "The campus looked terrific in showcasing the vibrant theme of the night, and it was rewarding to help others in a fun setting amongst friends."
Upon entering the main clubhouse of Highland Springs, it was "glitz, glitz galore" for guests: the red carpet and a large gold frame draped in shimmering silver with a huge urn of flowers.
The decorative theme was carried into the restaurant with beautiful silver table cloths and napkins, white flowers, sparkling lights and a mirror backdrop behind the band.
Attendees then experienced all the gala had to offer. Chisholm's Restaurant featured dancing and live entertainment presented by resident Jack Melick and His Big Band and a specially-planned menu prepared and served by the Highland Springs Dining Department.
Guests also enjoyed moonlit carriage rides throughout the 89-acre campus, including stops by the lake and the new continuing care neighborhood site, scheduled to open in December to offer assisted living, memory care and post-acute services.
Over $40,000 was raised at this year's Gala, a testament to the loyal supporters of the Resident Care Fund. Attendees bid on several enticing silent auction items, including vacation weeks, limo service and wine tasting events.
"I would like to thank all of the Gala Committee members plus all of the generous donations to our silent auction from residents, vendors and friends," noted Barbara Blachly, Community Resources Coordinator for Highland Springs.
As with all campuses in the Erickson Living network, Highland Springs offers residents a "home for life." The Resident Care Fund provides the confidential assistance that allows all residents to remain in their homes, assuring that they will receive the care they deserve.
