Artists at Linden Ponds Create Portraits of 20th Century Movie Stars

Hingham, MA -- For the past few years, artists at Linden Ponds celebrated the many Presidents of the United States with The Linden Ponds Hall of Presidents Exhibition.

This year, residents Burt Longenbach and members of his water color painting decided to create charcoal drawings of 27 movie stars including Katherine Hepburn, Marlon Brando, Fred Astaire, Clark Gable, Charlie Chaplin, Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor (18 in by 24 in) and two 6ft by 8ft portraits of Shirley Temple and Judy Garland.

Hingham Police Receive Hundreds of Toys from Linden Ponds

Hingham, MA -- More than 300 toys were presented to the Hingham Police Department at Linden Ponds.People who live at Linden Ponds presented 9 carriages filled with toys to the Hingham Police Department. The toys were donated over a few weeks of time.

Hingham, MA -- Nancy Gregory moved to Linden Ponds in Hingham five years ago from Easton, MA. She has always had a love of art and design since her college days at the Rhode Island School of Design where she majored in Apparel Design. She had no experience with painting at all during those four years.

During her years of marriage and raising two children, Gregory found various artistic endeavors that occupied her artistic bent, but it wasn't until 1993 that she found her niche.

Hundreds Attend “A Sinatra Christmas” at Linden Ponds

Hingham, MA -- In recognition of what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday on December 12, Linden Ponds celebrated his birthday with a “A Sinatra Christmas.”

Hundreds of people who live at Linden Ponds attended the concert led by conductor and Linden Ponds resident Nalora Steele. The Linden Ponds Singers, made up of more than 50 residents, performed many of Frank Sinatra’s hits along with holiday classics.

Linden Ponds Donates over 750lbs of Food and $190 to Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry

Hingham, MA -- One large turkey and more than 50 people who live and work at Linden Ponds participated in the annual Turkey Trot at Linden Ponds for the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry.

The residents and staff walked a mile or two at Linden Ponds and also donated bags of groceries to the Hingham Food Pantry. More than 760 pounds of food was donated by people at Linden Ponds.

Hingham, MA -- The Linden Ponds Veterans Group and the Diversity and Inclusion Council at Linden Ponds honored Tuskegee Airman Howard Carter.

Elected officials were on hand and State Rep. Garrett Bradley’s office provided a House of Representatives' Citation to Mr. Carter.

Linden Ponds to Host the Harvest Fair 10am to 2pm on Saturday, November 7

Hingham, MA -- People are invited to visit the Oakleaf Clubhouse at Linden Ponds, 300 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, for a Harvest Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 7. Linden Ponds Raised Over $11,000 at On-Campus Memory Walk in Support of the Alzheimer’s Association

Hingham, MA -- A little rain didn’t stop people who live and work at Linden Ponds in Hingham from coming together to walk in the on-campus Memory Walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Association and raising over $11,000.

“This is the 2nd year in a row we hosted the on-campus Memory Walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Association and even though it was a rainy day, people still attended,” said Mairi Bleakie, Philanthropy Manager, Linden Ponds. “Not only did people bundle up and walk outside but many also walked inside Linden Ponds! It was a wonderful day.”
