Hundreds Attend “A Sinatra Christmas” at Linden Ponds

Hingham, MA -- In recognition of what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday on December 12, Linden Ponds celebrated his birthday with a “A Sinatra Christmas.”

Hundreds of people who live at Linden Ponds attended the concert led by conductor and Linden Ponds resident Nalora Steele. The Linden Ponds Singers, made up of more than 50 residents, performed many of Frank Sinatra’s hits along with holiday classics.

Hingham, MA -- Joe Nho, I.T. Site Manager at Linden Ponds, won Gold at 2015 Boston Spring International Open IBJJF (The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

“I was fortunate enough to take Gold to my Division two years in a row,” said Nho, from Easton. “Our team has placed 2nd overall for New England the past 2 years. I am honored and fortunate to work with amazing Jiu-Jitsu coaches and can’t thank the entire Fenix Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team enough.”

Linden Ponds Donates over 750lbs of Food and $190 to Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry

Hingham, MA -- One large turkey and more than 50 people who live and work at Linden Ponds participated in the annual Turkey Trot at Linden Ponds for the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry.

The residents and staff walked a mile or two at Linden Ponds and also donated bags of groceries to the Hingham Food Pantry. More than 760 pounds of food was donated by people at Linden Ponds.

Hingham, MA -- The Linden Ponds Veterans Group and the Diversity and Inclusion Council at Linden Ponds honored Tuskegee Airman Howard Carter.

Elected officials were on hand and State Rep. Garrett Bradley’s office provided a House of Representatives' Citation to Mr. Carter.

Linden Ponds to Host the Harvest Fair 10am to 2pm on Saturday, November 7

Hingham, MA -- People are invited to visit the Oakleaf Clubhouse at Linden Ponds, 300 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, for a Harvest Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 7. Thirty crafters, some of who live at Linden Ponds, will display and sell their handmade jewelry, paintings, holiday ornaments, handbags and more. Parking and admission are free.

Linden Ponds Raised Over $11,000 at On-Campus Memory Walk in Support of the Alzheimer’s Association

Hingham, MA -- A little rain didn’t stop people who live and work at Linden Ponds in Hingham from coming together to walk in the on-campus Memory Walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Association and raising over $11,000.

“This is the 2nd year in a row we hosted the on-campus Memory Walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Association and even though it was a rainy day, people still attended,” said Mairi Bleakie, Philanthropy Manager, Linden Ponds. “Not only did people bundle up and walk outside but many also walked inside Linden Ponds! It was a wonderful day.”

Hingham, MA -- Hundreds of people who live at Linden Ponds attended the Harvest Ball and raised $40,000 for the Resident Care Fund.

“Everyone who lives and works at Linden Ponds looks forward to this event,” said Mairi Bleakie, Philanthropy Manager, Linden Ponds. “Every year is a different theme and this year was wonderfully decorated in the colors of Autumn.”

Linden Ponds Resident Returns from National Senior Games in MN

Hingham, MA -- While Ed Petcavage had been active his entire life, it was only when he moved into Linden Ponds in Hingham and joined the fitness center, did he start to see substantial physical health improvements. The fitness center staff, in less than a year of exercise advice and encouragement, prepared Petcavage for the local 2012 Quincy Senior Olympics.

By 2015, he had competed in two state senior games (RI and MA), two national senior games, a number of Quincy Senior Games and has won 28 medals in four years!

Linden Ponds Raises $500 for Rockland Food Pantry

Hingham, MA -- Linden Ponds Employee Health & Wellness Department held a 30-day Charity Plank Challenge and Barbara Leary, Fitness Specialist, Linden Ponds, won $500 for the charity of her choice, Rockland Food Pantry.

“Employees were challenged to hold the plank position for 4 ½ minutes culminating in a Plank-Off on May 13,” said Rosemarie Spada, Nurse Practitioner, Employee Health & Wellness Department at Linden Ponds. “The program’s purpose was to challenge employees to achieve a higher level of fitness throughout the month and compete for the top prize; money donated to their favorite charity.”
