People at Linden Ponds walk and raise $16,000 for Alzheimer’s Association

Hingham, MA -- Over 150 people who live and work at Linden Ponds participated in a “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” walk at the Hingham Retirement Community. More than $16,000 was raised.

“This was the first time Linden Ponds held a “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event on site and we had a wonderful turnout,” said Mairi Bleakie, Philanthropy Manager, Linden Ponds. “We raised over $16,000 for Alzheimer's Association. It was a wonderful day."

People walked around the campus and enjoyed a cookout all while raising money for a good cause.

Hingham, MA – Ten years ago, Linden Ponds opened its doors for the first time. This month, people who live and work at Linden Ponds will celebrate the 10 th Anniversary of Linden Ponds in a grand fashion at the “Some Enchanted Evening” Gala.

Linden Ponds Donates 1060lbs of food to Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry

Hingham, MA -- One large turkey and more than 100 people who live and work at Linden Ponds participated in the annual Turkey Trot at Linden Ponds for the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry.

The residents and staff walked a mile or two at Linden Ponds and also donated bags of groceries to the Hingham Food Pantry. More than 1060 pounds of food was donated by people at Linden Ponds.

Hingham, MA – Lloyd Lillie is a well-known sculptor and teacher of art who now lives at Linden Ponds in Hingham.

His work, including life size sculptures of John Quincy Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Former Mayor James Michael Curley, and many others can be found in locations such as the Boston Public Library, two American embassies, and in many Colleges and Universities.

Hingham, MA --- Linden Ponds will join an estimated 1,000 local groups to celebrate the 21st Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day (NSHFD) today, May 28th, 2014.  Linden Ponds held a group walk every day consisting of 1.2 miles to finish the month long 26.2 walking marathon event today.  The walking marathon began on April 22.  Residents and staff who participated were encouraged to commit to walking one mile each day.  Today, the final group will walk around the Linden Ponds campus, begins at 1:00 pm.  Hingham, MA -- Thirty students working at Linden Ponds will participate in the annual Student Scholarship Week, May 3-10, to raise money for the Linden Ponds Student Scholarship Fund. The Linden Ponds Scholarship Fund is for student employees who plan to attend a college or accredited trade school beginning fall 2014. The students need to have worked at Linden Ponds during their junior and senior year and put in 1000 hours of work. Those students will receive a total of $5,000 over four years of college.
