Linden Ponds Celebrates National Senior Health & Fitness Day®

Hingham, MA --- Linden Ponds will join an estimated 1,000 local groups to celebrate the 21st Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day (NSHFD) today, May 28th, 2014.  Linden Ponds held a group walk every day consisting of 1.2 miles to finish the month long 26.2 walking marathon event today. 
The walking marathon began on April 22.  Residents and staff who participated were encouraged to commit to walking one mile each day.  Today, the final group will walk around the Linden Ponds campus, begins at 1:00 pm. The walk will start at the Oakleaf Clubhouse and wind its way around the grounds to the Derby Clubhouse where the group will meet to celebrate this accomplishment.
"Our Walking Marathon is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to make, renew, and revitalize their commitment to live healthier lives through better health and fitness," said Barbara Leary, Fitness Specialist at Linden Ponds.
Linden Ponds residents and staff will join with an estimated 100,000 seniors today across the country expected to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, good nutrition and preventive care.
