Hingham, MA -- Seven residents who live at Linden Ponds in Hingham participated in the Quincy Senior Olympics and took home 34 medals! They participated in a number of events including: 1/2 mile walk, 3 mile walk, javelin, discus, golf putting and many more.
Linden Ponds resident Ed Petcavage competed in 12 events this year and trained in the Fitness Center at Linden Ponds. He took home 5 gold medals (golf, standing long jump, darts, 1/2 mile walk and 3 mile walk) and 3 silver (javelin, discus, and golf putting) medals.
"Since moving to Linden Ponds and joining the fitness center I have experienced substantial physical health improvement," said Petcavage. "The fitness staff helped me developed a 3 hour per week program of stretching, strength training, and treadmill that has help me in athletic competition. I was very ready to compete in this year's Olympics."
"Many of our residents trained with us in the fitness center at Linden Ponds," said Brendan O'Brien, Fitness Specialist. Linden Ponds. "We developed a plan for our residents and worked with them to help them get ready. Whether it was on a treadmill, in the pool or on our bocce court, we made sure they were ready to compete."
"We had another great group of residents participate this year," said Christine Hansen, Director of Sales and Marketing, Linden Ponds. "As the premier sponsor of the event we are always very excited to watch our residents take home medals every year."
