Ed Lorenz

Volunteer. Philanthropist. Maris Grove resident.

“I like to think and to be involved.” That’s the philosophy of Ed Lorenz, a retired vice president of technology at DuPont. When he and his wife Til began searching for a new place to live, finding a community that offered opportunities to learn, grow, and give back was a top priority.

The Lorenzes found what they were looking for at Maris Grove. Very shortly after settling in, they became involved in two philanthropic projects: the Scholars’ Fund and the Resident Care Fund.

“The Scholars’ Fund awards scholarships to qualifying high school seniors who are student employees at Maris Grove and wish to attend a college, university, or trade school,” explains Ed. “The Resident Care Fund was established for Maris Grove residents who, through no fault of their own, have exhausted their financial resources and need assistance with their health care and medical expenses.” *

Being part of such important endeavors has been a fulfilling experience for Ed and Til. “For us, retirement meant having the opportunity to use our talents and treasures to assist others in need,” says Ed. “By actively participating in both programs, we can help relieve some of the stresses these two different generations experience.”
